We have just received a really great load of salvaged flooring from the demolition of an old factory complex in Greenacre, Sydney. The Photos above are the packs of salvaged timber and some photos from a recent salvaged Blackbutt floor install.
There are floors available from two factories, both built in the 1950’s and both a mix of really dense old 85mm wide boards in Blackbutt and Tallowwood.
The floor boards have that really nice patina with the fine dark checking and the rich brown colour that these timbers get when the have seen a bit of use and history.
One floor is slightly older and has a deeper patina. We have more than 200sqm available of each, with a few more packs still to arrive from the demolition.
We are running the boards through our floor board cleaning machine now to clean them up and make them easier to lay, and will have sample boards sanded and polished ready for viewing in our workshop in the next few days.
We don’t get floors like these very often anymore so it is pretty exciting to get these timbers into the yard!
