And out of the rubble came these amazing Tallowwood floor boards!
We have just salvaged a load of Tallowwood flooring from the demolition of The Abbey, near Mittagong and it's ready to lay at your house!
The Abbey buildings date back to the 1930’s and were actually used as an Abbey complete with nuns!
Tallowwood is a great flooring choice because of it's durability and density ensuring your floors will look great even after years of use.
When floor boards come in from a demolition, we run them through a special machine Thor's Hammer made specifically to clean salvaged tongue and groove flooring, making the boards a lot easier to re-lay.
We have included a photo of the boards lightly re-sanded and finished with a clear oil retaining lots of their character built up over the years.
The boards could also be sanded back further and any nail holes and cracks filled with resin providing a totally smooth flooring surface while still retaining the beauty of this recycled timber.
We have just finished cleaning up these boards and have it available in two sizes:
60mm (width) x 28mm (thickness)
85mm (width) x 18mm (thickness)
